Frauenmuseum Merano

The Women's Museum in Merano (Frauenmuseum | Museo delle donne I Merano) was founded in 1988 and shows the history of women and their role in society from the 19th century to the present day. Women's history is "dressed and equipped" with the traditional narrative tools of the Women's Museum - fashion, accessories and everyday objects, pictures, and statistics. In the special exhibition hall the museum shows women-specific exhibitions from home and abroad which deepen the subject of women's ideals, women's pictures, and women's roles. In addition, different cultural events are conducted at the museum. A women-specific library is also available.
